An Israeli airstrike hit a vehicle in western Gaza City on September 6, killing Youssef Akila and his 8-year-old daughter, Wafaa, and wounding six other people, Reuters reported, citing Mohamed Abu Selmia, head of Al Shifa Hospital.
An Israeli military spokesperson told Reuters that forces had targeted a Hamas militant and were still assessing the result. The military did not identify the alleged target in the cited account or say whether that person had been killed. The reviewed reporting does not establish that either named victim was the intended target.
Later on Sunday, two other Israeli strikes killed two more people in Gaza City, including a child, local medics told Reuters. Those reports brought the day’s reported death toll from Israeli attacks in the city to at least four.
Casualty identities and counts in this report are attributed to Gaza medical officials and were not independently verified by Stat Crux Report. Israel’s description of the intended target is also presented as the military’s statement, not as an independently established finding.
