This policy explains how information is handled when you read Stat Crux Report or contact us. Questions and privacy requests can be sent to StatCruxLLC@proton.me.
Delivering and protecting the website
Cloudflare hosts and delivers this website. Requests contain information such as your IP address, requested address, browser information and request time. Cloudflare processes request information to deliver pages, protect the service and provide aggregate traffic statistics. These server-side functions operate independently of the optional browser features below. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy.
Your choices
Use Privacy choices to allow or turn off optional audience analytics and automatic loading of embedded media. We save your choices in this browser’s local storage for up to six months. You can change them at any time. Clearing browser storage removes the saved choices. You can read articles without allowing optional features.
When your browser sends Global Privacy Control, we keep optional audience analytics, automatic X embeds and advertising off. Links to other websites still work, and those websites apply their own privacy policies.
Audience analytics
With your permission, we use Google Analytics to understand readership, including pages viewed, visits, approximate geography, device/browser information, referral sources and clicks reported by embedded X posts. These clicks are measured as interactions, not confirmed shares. Google Analytics may set first-party cookies to distinguish visits. Our configuration excludes search query text and URL fragments from the page address sent with page views and disables Google advertising signals and ad-personalization signals. Declining analytics prevents our Google Analytics script from loading.
Embedded posts and videos
Some stories contain posts or videos from X. X posts load automatically unless you turn off embedded media in Privacy choices or your browser sends Global Privacy Control. An explicit saved choice to turn off embedded media is respected. You can choose “Show this post” to load an individual post. Loading it sends information, including your IP address and browser information, to X; X may use cookies or associate that visit with an account you hold there. You can instead follow the original source link. See X’s privacy policy.
Advertising
Google display ads are not currently enabled. When advertising is activated, this page will describe the providers and choices that apply. We will not use your optional analytics choice as permission for advertising.
Read how Google uses information from sites and apps that use its services and Google’s privacy policy.
Reader comments
We store your submitted display name, comment and submission time with Cloudflare. Comments become public immediately and may be removed by the site moderator. Display names are not verified. We do not ask for an email address to comment. To limit spam, the comment service uses a keyed, daily changing representation of your IP address; rate-limit records expire within two days. Published comments remain until removed. Contact us with the article address and comment details to request removal. Moderator sign-in uses a necessary, secure session cookie lasting up to eight hours.
When you contact us
If you email us, we receive the information you send, such as your email address, name and message. We use it to handle your inquiry, story tip, correction or business request, and retain it as needed for that purpose and associated records. Email is handled through Proton Mail; see Proton Mail’s privacy policy. Avoid sending sensitive personal information in an initial message.
Requests and updates
Depending on where you live and the information involved, you may have rights to request access, correction or deletion, or to object to certain processing. Contact us at the address above so we can assess your request. For cookies or data held by another provider, use that provider’s controls as well. Turning a feature off stops future loading through our site; it does not automatically delete data already received by a provider.
We may update this policy as the website changes. The date above identifies the latest revision.
