Security personnel at the Malibu property of former Vice President Kamala Harris and her husband, Doug Emhoff, stopped a woman who entered the grounds Friday evening before she reached the home, according to a Harris spokesperson. Harris and Emhoff were away at the time.

The on-site security team contacted the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, which has jurisdiction over Malibu. A watch commander told the Los Angeles Times that deputies responded around 10:30 p.m.; the unidentified woman agreed to leave voluntarily and was not arrested. The department said it would increase patrols around the property.

Harris no longer has Secret Service protection after President Donald Trump revoked an extension of that coverage in August 2025. The California Highway Patrol continues to assist her security detail but said its officers were not at the property during Friday night’s incident.

The available account establishes an unauthorized entry and a voluntary departure after security and law-enforcement intervention. It does not report an injury, arrest or identified motive.
